Ferrari 599 GTO Drag Races Tuned BMW X6M and DYI (?) Nissan Juke R

Drag races are very popular in Russia, and since the country doesn’t lack wealthy individuals, the cars that show up at both legal and illegal races are impressive. Take this stock Ferrari 599 GTO, for instance, that showed up at Moscow’s Unlimited 500+ 10th anniversary event and was pitted against two cars from a completely different league.

In the first duel, the 670hp Ferrari takes on a highly modified BMW X6M developing 760 hp thanks to a PP-Performance Stage 4 kit, while in the second race the Italian supercar is pitted against what is likely a non-official Nissan Juke R tuned to develop 700 hp. The Nissan is the same one from a previous video, but for some reason the owner has detuned it from 750 hp to 700 hp.

We won’t disclose the outcome of the two drag races, but we’ll tell you one of the drivers’ poor starting technique may have had some contribution to the results. Scroll down to see how the Ferrari did against the two “mutant” SUVs.

Velvet Ferrari 599 GTB Looks Even Worse When It Rains

You probably know by now the velvet-wrapped Ferrari 599 GTB – or the Furarri as some call it - but did you stop for a second and think about how “practical” the unusual wrap is?

Well, I didn’t either, but when the following video surfaced I realized the velvet wrap is not only a clear case of bad taste, but that it also comes with a series of practical shortcomings.

The video shows how the velvet Ferrari 599 GTB looks when it’s left outside in the rain – almost a daily event in London where the car has been spotted a few times. Leaving aside the fact that the bonnet looks like a football pitch lacking drainage, I can’t help but wonder what the owner must do to dry the car when the rain stops.

A hairdryer may appear as the obvious solution, but imagine how long it would take to dry the generously proportioned 599. Then what does one have to do to arrange the velvet once it is dry? Comb it?

The smell may be another factor to take into account, as the wet velvet must give the 599 a specific odor – probably similar to what a drizzling dog smells like. And let's not think about the possible colonies of microorganisms that may settle on the 599's cozy bodywork... I’m sure the owner hasn’t taken all these factors into account – if he had, he probably would have given it a second thought.
